Of Valdosta passed away Sunday, October 2, 2011 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born on December 16, 1949 in Lowndes County to the late Charlie Elmer & Lommie Lou Lightsey Carter. He worked at Colonial Bag for 13 years. He loved to fish, hunt and spend time with family and friends. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Church of Christ.

Mr. Carter's memory lives on through his, Sisters & Brothers-in-law, Betty Lou & Roy Amburn, Avon Park, FL, Rose & Earnest Hall, Valdosta, GA; Brothers & Sisters-in-law, Felton & Linda Carter, Nashville, GA, Lavon & Leah Carter, Arkansas; Special Uncle & Auntie, Pafford & Debbie Carter, Valdosta, GA; Special Cousin, Chip Roberson, Valdosta, GA; 17 Nieces and Nephews; A number of Aunts, Uncles and Cousins

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 Wednesday, October 5, 2011 in Hickory Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday evening, October 4, 2011 at the home of Rose Hall, 5603 Dawkins Road, Valdosta, GA.
