Samuel William "Country Hippy" Keen – 61
Of Valdosta passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at his residence. He was born on May 11, 1950 in Cherry Lake, FL to the late James Ernest & Ola Mae Reagan Keen. He worked as a truck driver for over 42 years. He loved fishing, riding motorcycles, camping and riding in his boat. He was a member of the Antioch Church. He is preceded in death by his son, Samuel William Keen, Jr, "Little Bit", grandson, John William Wesley Duncan and a brother, Thomas Keen.
Mr. Keen is survived by his, Wife of over 31 years, Missy Keen, Valdosta, GA; Daughters & Sons-in-law, Penny & Danny Duncan, Knoxville, TN; Alicia "Monkey" & Paul Layton, Naylor, GA, Nikki & Robbie Myers, Naylor, GA; Son, Buddy Keen, Mayo, FL; 7 Grandchildren Seth Long, Taylor Jo Layton, Briley Layton, Kenley Layton, Talmadge Layton, Chance "Tuff" Faircloth, and Ashlyn Myers; Great Granddaughter, McKinly Long; Sisters, Virginia Gaskins, Mayo, FL, Minnie Thompson, Valdosta, GA; Brothers, Roger Keen, Kenny Keen, Timmy Keen, All of Valdosta, GA; 5 Backyard Youngans; A number of Nieces and Nephews
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, December 29, 2011 at the funeral home. As per his wishes he will be cremated following visitation and a memorial service will be held at 5:00 PM Friday, December 30, 2011 in the Antioch Church in Echols County with Pastor Mickey Corbett officiating.
