Sara Peters Woods Miller- 93
Of Jacksonville, FL passed away Sunday, June 11, 2006. She was born December 10, 1912 in Lakeland, GA, the youngest of seven children of Thomas Jefferson Peters and Pernelipa Moore Peters, all deceased. Mrs. Miller spent most of her adult life as a nurse in Ridgeland, S.C. and Jacksonville. Her nurse training was in Ridgeland Hospital. She left nursing at the completion of 28 years with one physician as head nurse in Jacksonville, FL. During her few years in Ridgeland she became active in the Order of the Eastern Star, retiring with honor of Worthy Grand Matron, Chapter 124. Mrs. Miller was a member of Riverside Presbyterian Church. She dedicated her life helping others. She was twice recognized as Good Neighbor through articles in the Times-Union.
Surviving is her husband of 57 years, George Lewis Miller, a son, Thomas Richard Woods, Sr, Bert, 3 grandchildren, T. R. Woods, Jr. Teresa, George A. Woods Landace, Sara L. Sasee Woods McConnell Ross and 5 great grandchildren.
Graveside services were held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, Junes 14, 2006 at Burnt Church Cemetery with Rev. W. Avery Kelly officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Sara Miller will be accepted at All Saints Catholic Nursing Home or Community Hospice, N.E. Both of Jacksonville, FL
