Of Lakeland, GA passed away early Tuesday morning, March 16, 2004 at her residence following declining health. She was born in Charlton County, GA and had lived most of her life in Lanier County. She was a member of Lakeland United Methodist Church and attended the Lakeland Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband Emory Batten, and daughter, Sylvia Patterson.

Daughter, Carol Conine, Camilla, GA
2 Sons, Danny Batten, Lakeland, GA Dewayne Batten, Lakeland, GA, 9 Grandchildren 13 Great Grandchildren
A number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 18, 2004 in the Lakeland Chapel of Music Funeral Services. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.
