Scott Fountain – 49 of Lakeland, Georgia passed away on Wednesday October 7, 2020 in the South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, Georgia. He was born on February 28, 1971 in Adel, Georgia to Barbara (Barker)Ray. Scott worked as a Paramedic for 28 years in Lanier and Lowndes County. He served as District Chief for the past 10 years. Scott was also a member of Lakeland Lodge Post #434 where he served as the Worshipful Master. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lakeland where he served as the Chairman of the Deacons. As everyone knows he was a wonderful husband, father, son, friend, mentor and leader to many. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, fishing and hunting, watching the Lanier County Bulldogs and Georgia Bulldogs. He is preceded in death by his father, John Ray; Mother-in-law, Polly Pruitt; Grandparents: Austin and Martha Barker, and Kay Fountain; Granny, Sylvia Moore.
Survivors include his wife and best friend of 22 years, Tina Pruitt Fountain of Lakeland, GA; Daughters, Hali Fountain of Nashville, GA, Kaytlin Fountain of Lakeland, GA; Fur Babies: Dixie and Bodey; Brothers, Shane Fountain and wife, Karen of Mars Hill, NC, Todd Fountain and wife, Gini of Greenville, SC; Sister, Tammy Rogers and husband, Jeremy of Fairview, NC; Best Good Friend, Jesse Pratt and wife, Shannon of Milton, FL; Father-in-law, John Pruitt of Lakeland, GA; Brothers-in-law; Jim Pruitt of Cairo, GA, Wesley Pruitt and wife, Darcy of Nashville, GA; Sisters-in-law, Linda Lancaster and husband, Daryl of Nashville, GA, Miranda Pruitt of Lakeland, GA, Velda Shuman and husband, Tim of Lakeland, GA; Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
Services for Scott will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday October 10, 2020 in the First Baptist Church of Lakeland, GA. A burial will follow in the Burnt Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Friday, October 9, 2020 at the funeral home. The family has requested that mask be worn and practice social distancing.
