Sharon Hurst

Sharon Hurst, 67, of Valdosta passed away early Tuesday morning, July 26, 2016 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, GA. Sharon was born July 19, 1949 in Elizabethtown, NC raised in Wilkes-Barre, PA and has lived in Valdosta since 1996. Sharon was the center of the Hurst family, serving as a loving mother figure to all.

Sharon was preceded in death by her father, Henry Joseph White, her sister, Karen White, her son, Gene Hurst, and her mother, Jenny Copeland.

She is survived by her husband, Sheldon Hurst Jr., Valdosta; son and daughter-in-law, Sheldon and Bernadine Hurst III, Paducah, KY; her brother, Eddie White, Raleigh, NC; her grandchildren, Sheldon Hurst IV, Charlotte, NC; Ashley Aguirre, Austin, TX; Alexandria Steele, Fort Stewart, GA; Bailey Hurst, Roswell, GA, and great grandchildren, Charlie Goodspeed, Roswell, GA; Evelynn Aguirre, Austin, TX.

Funeral services will be held July 29, 2016 at 10:00am in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services. Internment will be held at Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday, July 28, 2016 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
