Shirley Corbitt – 76

Of Lakeland, Ga passed away late Tuesday night, November 8, 2016 in the Langdale Hospice House in Valdosta following a lengthy illness. She was born December 16, 1939 in Argyle, Clinch Co, GA to the late Barney Russell and Eula Mae Teston Evans. Shirley spent many years as a lab technician with South Georgia Medical Center before her retirement. She was very active in her community a member of the Garden Club, Bridge Club, loved playing golf. Living with the view of Banks Lake from her house she loved spending time fishing in the lake. She was a member of the Lakeland United Methodist Church in Lakeland, GA. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Jessie Madison Sonny Corbitt, brothers Barney Russell Evans and Harry Reed Evans.

Survivors Include: Daughter, Tina Corbitt, Texas; Sons and Daughters-in-law: Michael Corbitt Bridgett Corbett, Lakeland, GA, Mark and Pam Corbitt, Lakeland, GA; Daughter, Kyra Corbitt, Lakeland, GA; 5 Grandchildren: Ashley Corbitt, Carolyn Corbitt, Alexander Corbitt, Crystal Foster Matt, and Chandra Wilbourn Zack; 2 Great Grandchildren: Patrick Wilbourn & Josh Wilbourn; 3 Brothers & Sisters-in-laws, Vernon Donnell & Lelia RoseEvans, Atlanta, GA, Jesse Maryland & Katherine Ann Evans Lakeland, GA, Larry Garland & Caroline Janice Evans, Argyle, Ga, Caroline Rutledge Evans, Bonnie Kay Evans and a number of nieces and nephews.

A memorial services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Ms. Shirley's residence, 340 W. Hwy 122, Lakeland, GA overlooking Banks Lake. A gathering of friends and relatives will be held Friday evening, November 25, 2016 at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
