Shirley June Gallagher

Shirley June Gallagher, age 89, of Valdosta, Georgia passed away peacefully on Friday, April 3, 2026, at the Langdale Hospice House surrounded by family. Shirley was born on June 9, 1936, to the late William Troxel and Pearl Fogelman in Reading, Pennsylvania.

She graduated from Reading Senior High school in 1954 and married the love of her life, Eugene Carl Gallagher, in 1956. They were married for over 60 years.

She loved serving the Lord and worked as a secretary at Nativity Lutheran church in Reading, PA for 11 years before she and her husband, Eugene, moved to Manning, SC. After moving to Manning, SC she served as church secretary at Clarendon Baptist Church in Alcolu, SC for over 23 years. She loved animals and often volunteered at the animal shelter in Manning.

When she moved down to Georgia, she became a member of Greenwood Baptist Church in Valdosta where she continued to serve the Lord.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eugene Gallagher; daughters, Patricia Bush and Kathleen Hartline; and brother Alvin Fogelman.

She is survived by her sister, Carol Schlottman of Allentown, PA; son-in-law, Bradley Hartline of Valdosta, GA; grandchildren, Amanda Hartline, of Valdosta, GA, Joseph Hartline of Valdosta, GA, Mathew Bush of Sumter, SC, Kimberly Brown of Lansdale, PA; great grandchildren, Maddy Orazi and Saidye Brown; along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

A memorial service will be held at Greenwood Baptist Church, Valdosta at 11:00AM, Saturday, April 11, 2026. The family will receive friends one hour prior at the church.
