Shirley Anne Jones beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, died at home Sunday, September 18, 2011 with her family by her side. Shirley was born on December 1, 1939. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years LC Jones, in February 2009.
Shirley believed that whatever one attempted in life deserved the very best effort. She enjoyed reading, gardening, cooking, sewing, and being with her family. Shirley was an accomplished artist and her paintings grace the walls of family and friends.

In the past she has been a Girl Scout Leader, worked with Air Force wives at bases where LC was assigned during his career, and she was a Red Cross volunteer at hospitals along the way. Above all she loved her church and was grateful to be able to teach Sunday School at Good Hope for many years.
She attended Valdosta State University in 1983, earning her B.S., Masters, and Education Specialist degrees and teaching in Lanier until her retirement in 2002.
