Of Valdosta, Georgia passed away on Friday, October 23, 2020 at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Georgia. She was born on July 6, 1942 in Adel, Georgia to Buie J. and Eula (Sapp) Rowan. She was a teacher for over ten years at Valdosta High School. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a Granddaughter, Amanda Harrison, by a Sister, Carolyn Nichols, by 2 Brothers, J. L. Rowan and wife, Carrie, Buie Rowan, Brothers-in-law, Robert Taylor, and Jack Gay and by a Son-in-Law, Benjie Kent,.
Survivors include her
Daughters, Penny Cook Spencer and Husband Steve of Birmingham, AL, Grace Drew Kent of Valdosta, GA; Sons, Brad Drew and wife, Carol of Valdosta, GA,
Remer Drew and wife, Amy of Lake Park, GA; 9 Grandchildren; 2 Great Grandchildren; Sisters, Joyce Gay of Albany, GA, Peggy Taylor of Thomasville, GA; Sister-in-Law, Barbara Rowan of Doerun, GA
and a number of nieces and nephews.
As per Mrs. Shirley’s wishes, she will be cremated and a graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, October 26, 2020 in Longbridge Cemetery in Nashville, Georgia.
