Of Albany, GA passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at Phoebe Putney Hospital in Albany, GA. She was born on March 16, 1944 in High Springs, FL to Thomas Cecil and Eloise Goolsby Monk. She taught elementary school in Dougherty County and taught preschool at the First Baptist Church of Albany. She also worked at the Trust Company Bank of Atlanta. She graduated from Bainbridge High School in 1962 and Middle Georgia College. She was of the Baptist faith and attended First Baptist Church of Albany.

Husband, Robert Smith of Albany, GA;
Daughter, Kimela Smith & Phillips of Leesburg, GA;
Daughter & Son-in-Law, Paula Smith & Larry Norland of Cary, NC;
Grandchildren, Bryce Sidders, Clayton Phillips, Elizabeth Norland,
Caroline Norland, and Davis Norland
Brother, Tommy Monk of Bainbridge, GA
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00AM, Saturday, September 7, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Albany in Albany, GA with burial to follow at Oak City Cemetery in Bainbridge, GA. The family will receive friends at 10:00AM until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation at JDRF.org.
