Stan Wade, 56 of Naylor, Georgia passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at South Georgia Medical Center of Valdosta after a brief illness. Stan was born on December 5, 1967, to the late Aubrey and Ivos Wade in Waycross, Georgia. He began his career at Valdosta State Prison and eventually transitioned to the Georgia Department of Corrections – Probation Division, where he dedicated 31plus years of service and retired as Chief. After enjoying a brief retirement, Stan returned to the workforce as the Deputy Clerk of Court for Lanier County, Georgia.
A man of diverse interests, Stan cherished outdoor activities such as hunting and fishing, and he found great joy in coaching softball, sharing his passion for the sport with young athletes. He was also a devoted football fan, proudly supporting the Georgia Bulldogs. He shared a special bond with his dog, Brownie. Stan's life was marked by his commitment to service, his love for family, and his enthusiasm for the great outdoors.
Along with his parents, Stan is preceded in death by his brother Craig Wade and sister, Dawn Wade.
Survivors include, his sons, Peyton Wade of Naylor, Georgia and Parker Wade of Hahira, Georgia; daughter, Presley Wade of Hahira, Georgia; mother of his children, Christy King of Hahira, Georgia; brother, Rick Wade (Beverly) of Mobile, Alabama; nephews, Aubrey Williams of Alma, Georgia, Garrett Wade (Natasha) of Mobile, Alabama, and Alex Wade (Tiffany) of Mobile, Alabama; niece, Tori Smith (Rex) of Elijay, Georgia; along with a multitude of friends and former colleagues.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, in the chapel of Music Funeral Services, Lakeland, Georgia. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at the funeral home. As per his wishes, following the service he will be cremated.
