Stanley “Q” Adams, 71, of Valdosta, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at South Georgia Medical Center after a courageous battle with a prolonged illness. Born on February 25, 1954, in Newark, New Jersey, he was the beloved son of the late James Adams, Sr. and Everlena Gardener Adams.
Stanley was a gifted musician and singer with an innate talent for understanding and creating music. His passion for guitars was well-known, and he cherished each one, even naming them personally, showcasing his deep connection to his craft. Stanley's musical talents were only one aspect of his remarkable character.
A hardworking and dedicated man, Stanley was also a pillar of strength for his family. His love for his wife, children, grandchildren, and extended family was immeasurable. Stanley's devotion to his loved ones was clear in everything he did, always putting family first and working tirelessly to provide and care for them.
His warm spirit, his love of music, and his unwavering dedication to his family will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Shirley Adams of Valdosta, Georgia; his cherished children: Sakeenah Peel of Millville, New Jersey, Megan Adams of Valdosta, Georgia, Stuart Adams of Tampa, Florida, and Tamica Hargrove-Taylor of South Carolina; his loving grandchildren: Asia Peel of Millville, New Jersey and Milah Adams of Tampa, Florida; his siblings: James Adams, Jr. (Yolanda) of Irvington, New Jersey, Robert Adams of Millburn, New Jersey and Velma Adams of North Plainfield, New Jersey; and many numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at NorthGate Assembly of God, 4165 Bemiss Road #G, Valdosta, Georgia 31605 with burial to follow in Pallbearer Cemetery, 2694 Riverside Drive, Valdosta, Georgia, 31601.
