Of Quitman GA, passed away October 23, 2009. She was born in Wertheim Germany on June 22, 1954 to the late Thomas and Johanna Krafft. She met her husband Edward F. Deane Jr. Retired SGM, US Army in September 1969 and married June 18, 1971.
Stephanie Deane dedicated her life to educating young children and served for the Department of Defense as a pre-K and kindergarten teacher for the United States Army Ft Story, Virginia Beach, VA; Ft McClellan, Anniston, AL and United States Air Force Moody AFB, Valdosta, GA for 31 years. Stephanie received numerous awards and acknowledgements for her dedication and expertise in educating children, but it was the recognition and appreciation from parents and her students that she enjoyed the most.
Stephanie Deane will be dearly missed by all those who knew her and whose lives she touched. A truly extraordinary person, she lived life to the fullest everyday and inspired and mentored others to be the best they could be.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Edward F., III and Renee Deane of Lakeland, GA; her daughter, Sharon A. Deane of Brandon, FL; a sister, Renata Wilke of Wolfsburg, Germany; a brother, Jens Krafft of Berlin, Germany; and her grandchildren, Reed and Colton Deane.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at 10:00am at the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with Rev. Byron Wheatley officiating. A celebration of her life will be held after the services at the family residence.
