Sterling “Jack” Nichols Jr.- 77
Of Valdosta, Georgia passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born to the late Sterling Jackson Nichols and Ruth Ann (Crabtree) Nichols on September 12, 1947, in DeLand, Florida.
Jack was a devoted husband, beloved father, and a grandfather whose love knew no bounds. He had a heart full of faith, living his life as a devoted Christian and a shining example to all who knew him. For eight years, Jack shared his musical talents as a member of the gospel quartet "Forever His," bringing joy and inspiration to countless listeners. His commitment to his faith was also evident in his 25 years as an ordained minister, where he served congregations with dedication and humility, filling in for churches in need, and leading with grace and wisdom. One of Jack's greatest passions was his prison ministry in DeFuniak Springs, Florida, which he held close to his heart. His tireless work in bringing hope and healing to those incarcerated was a testament to his unwavering belief in redemption and compassion. Jack was a proud Vietnam veteran who served in the U.S. Army, a time that shaped his character and gave him a deep sense of duty and patriotism. Jack worked for Entenmann’s Bakery for 32 years. Outside of his ministry and service, Jack was an avid fisherman with a special love for deep-sea fishing, where he found peace and joy on the open water. Above all, he treasured the time spent with his family, always putting them first and creating lasting memories that will live on in their hearts forever. Jack's life was a legacy of love, service, and faith; a man who will be deeply missed but whose impact will never be forgotten.
