Steven Trent Royals – 51
Of Lakeland, Georgia passed away on Friday, May 15, 2026, at his home. He was born on December 17, 1974, in Valdosta, Georgia to James Donald Royals, Jr. and Wanda Elaine (Chason) Royals.
Steven was a vibrant, kindhearted soul who brought joy and laughter to everyone he met. Known for his great sense of humor, he greeted the world with a permanent smile and a warm heart. He deeply cherished his family and friends, and his loss leaves a profound space in the lives of those who loved him.
He was a kid at heart himself, which made him a natural favorite among the younger generation. As a wonderful uncle, the smaller children in the family absolutely adored him. He was also the go-to fixer to his nieces and nephews. Local children regularly sought out “Steven” to repair their broken toys, knowing he would always fix them with care.
Steven was a talented creator and tinkerer. He possessed a unique skill for collecting miscellaneous parts and transforming them into working treasures, spending countless hours building and repairing bicycles, engineering go-karts, and crafting impressive custom subwoofer boxes.
Above all, Steven will be remembered for his unwavering generosity. If you asked him for help, he would instantly stop whatever he was doing to assist you. He gave his time and his talents freely, asking for nothing in return.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Buck and Nell Chason, James and Mildred Royals; uncles: J.C. Browning, Lee Kirbo; stepmom, Betty Royals.
Survivors include his mother, Wanda Chason Royals of Lakeland, Georgia; father, James Donald Royals, Jr. of Nashville, Georgia; daughter, Trista Moore of Valdosta, Georgia; siblings: Tina Royals Steed of Lakeland, Georgia, Chris Royals (Becky) of Lake Park, Georgia; 3 aunts; 1 uncle; numerous special nieces, nephews and extended family members.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at Greenlawn Cemetery, Lakeland.
