Of Valdosta passed away Monday, May 24, 2010 in South Georgia Medical Center. She was born on July 7, 1946 in Echols County, GA to the late Carson W. & Martha Ellen Touchton Sowell. She loved fishing and spending time with her family. She was a member of Wrights Chapel United Methodist Church in Echols County. She is preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Thompson, grandson, Carson Roberts, II and brother, Edward Sowell.
Survivors include:
Daughters & Sons-in-law, Becky & Derrell Stone, Valdosta, GA, Cherie & Dan Hunt, Valdosta, GA; Sons & Daughter-in-law, Larry & Lisa Roberts, Jr., Georgia, Shane Roberts, Valdosta, GA; 16 Grandchildren; 9 Great Grandchildren; Sisters & Brothers-in-law, Betty Starnes, Lakeland, GA, Jackie & Barney Newsome, Jennings, FL, Paula & Dan Goss, Statenville, GA; A number of Nieces and Nephews
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 26, 2010 in the Wrights Chapel United Methodist Church in Echols County, GA with burial to follow in Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at the funeral home.
