Of Lakeland, GA passed away Friday night March 23, 2012 in the South Georgia Medical Center Valdosta, GA after a brief illness. She was born February 16, 1930 in Gainsville, Georgia to the late Alvin Grover and Mary Frances O'Kelly Nix. Along with her parents she is preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. She was a member of Pleasant Way Baptist Church in Lowndes County GA. She is survived by her husband Gus Wilcox of Lakeland, GA , Daughter and Son-in-law Nancy and Ronnie Baxley of Fairmont, NC, Son and Daughter-in-law Charles Edward and Jeannie Wilcox of Lumberton, NC. Four Grandchildren; Meredith Storms, Jennifer Stefanko, Will Baxley, and Lucus Baxley. A Sister Geneva Conine of Lakeland, GA and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 4:00 P.M. Monday March 26, 2012 in the Lakeland Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial in Greenlawn cemetery in Lakeland, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening between 6:00 and 8:00 P.M. Sympathy may be expressed online at www.musicfuneralservices.com .
