Thomas Alton Forte, Jr (June). – 89
 
 
 Of Valdosta, GA passed away on Friday,
 
 
 July 7, 2017 at Pruitt Health – Crestwood Nursing Home in
 
 
 Valdosta, GA. He was born on November 5, 1927 in Hahira, GA
 
 
 to the late Thomas Alton Forte, Sr and Minion (Hendry) Forte. He
 
 
 was a member of the graduating class of Hahira High School
 
 
 and then he served in the United States Army and the United
 
 
 States Navy. He worked with the Valdosta Police Department
 
 
 for a little over six years, leaving there as desk sergeant.
 
 
 In January of 1970, he became the owner and operator of
 
 
 Bemiss Grocery & Market until his ill health forced his
 
 
 retirement in 2002. He was a member of the Cherry Creek
 
 
 Baptist Church. Along with his parents, he is preceded in
 
 
 death by his wifes, Arlie Gwendolyn (Chadwick) Forte, and
 
 
 Barbara Jean Ivey Winn Forte and sons, Tommy Dean Forte and
 
 
 Don Richardson and mother-in-law Edna Ivey of Valdosta Ga.
 
 
 One brother Charles Robert “Bobby” Forte of Barney Ga,
 
 
 Two sisters Bernice Forte Vigil of Milton FL, Mittie Forte
 
 
 Kitchen of Homestead Fl.
 
 
 Survivors include his son and daughter in law, Bobby June and Dede Forte
 
 
 of Plain City Ohio and son James “Jimmy” Keith Forte,
 
 
 of Ray City Ga, daughter-in-law Mary Forte of Miami Fl,.and
 
 
 stepson Mike Winn of Jacksonville Fl, sister Virginia Forte
 
 
 Weldon of Valdosta Ga, sister in law and brother in law Nancy and Vance
 
 
 Boone of Valdosta Ga.
 
 
 Grandchildren Rebecca Forte and Thomas
 
 
 (Tom) Forte of Greenville SC, Michelle Zitnick and Andrew
 
 
 Birtwistle of Miami Fl, Gabrielle Forte, Madeline Forte and

 Funeral services will be held at 11:00
 
 
 AM on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 in the Valdosta Chapel of Music
 
 
 Funeral Services With Pastor Glen Gray officiating with
 
 
 burial to follow in the Cherry Creek Cemetery. The family
 
 
 will receive friends one hour prior to the services on
