Of Valdosta, GA passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born on January 11, 1949 in Cincinnatti, OH to Lee W. and Mary (Longlevin) Purden. He was a self -employed painter and of the Baptist faith. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers and a sister.
Survivors include his Wife, Sara Van Well Purden of Valdosta, GA; Son, Joey (Lavern) Purden of Valdosta, GA; Daughter, Cherly Purden of Cincinnati, OH; Step Daughter, Peggy (Wayne) Schmidt of Summerset, KY, Step Daughter, Donna (Rick) Thornton of McMinnville, TN, Step Son, Bill (Beverly) Van Well of Bay City, MI; Sister, Naomi (Terry) Hood of Cincinnati, OH; numerous Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 9:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Messages of sympathy may be expressed online at www.musicfuneralservices.com .
