Thelma "Granny" Courson- 94
of Lakeland, GA passed away Sunday morning, February 8, 2015 at her residence after a lengthy illness. She was born January 17, 1921 to the late Johnny & Lillie Griner Brown in Nashville, Berrien County, GA. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Pliny W. Courson. She was a lifelong and the last surviving member of the Mud Creek Primitive Baptist Church, a member of the K & E Club, and the Real Club. Before ill health she was known for baking cakes, surprising many with the gift of a cake. Granny's love of fishing and being outdoors was known to everyone. Granny Courson day was declared on May 31, 2006. She remained known as "Granny" to everyone in the community.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, February 10, 2015 in Southside Baptist Church in Lakeland, GA with burial to follow in Mud Creek Cemetery in Lanier County.
