Thomas “Tom” Armes, Sr., 64, of Valdosta, Georgia passed away at his residence on Saturday, November 2, 2024. He was born to the late Thomas Estill Armes, Jr. and Roberta Louise (Madden) Neighbors, on May 28, 1960, in Vincennes, Indiana. Tom cherished every moment with his grandchildren, whether he was fishing by the ponds, cheering on his grandsons at their baseball games, or engaging them in lively discussions about FFA reliving his childhood memories. He was a dedicated truck driver for more than 40 years. Each activity brought him joy and strengthened their bond, creating memories that would last a lifetime. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 44 years: Nancy Armes; 2 brothers: Larry Armes, Sr. and Kevin Neighbors and mother-in-law and father-in-law: Gloria Trego and Walter Greene.
Survivors include his 2 daughters: Kimberly Tutt (Stephen) of Echols County, Georgia and Nicole Sikes (Kenny) of Valdosta, Georgia; son: T.C. Armes (Shannon) of Live Oak, Florida; affectionately known as “Pop Pop” to his 7 grandchildren: McKenzie Sikes, Morgan Sikes, Walt Sikes, Carter Armes, Samuel Tutt, Madison Armes, and Emma Tutt; sister: Patricia Smith of Royston, Georgia; brother: Don Neighbors (Betsy) of Valdosta, Georgia; sister in laws: Aggie Armes of Orleans, Indiana and Marie Neighbors of Valdosta, Georgia; best friend: Revis Casteen of Valdosta, Georgia; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 9, 2024 in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial to follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, Quitman, GA. This would have been their 45th wedding anniversary. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday evening, November 8, 2024 at the funeral home.
