Thomas F. Armstrong – 82
Of Valdosta, GA passed away Saturday, September 3, 2016 at Langdale Hospice House. He was born on January 10, 1934 in Omaha, NE to the late Lester Lee Armstrong and Emma Louise Hamm. Tom attended the University of Virginia, where he received a degree in education and went on to become a math teacher. Tom spent most of his 30 year teaching career at Washington-Lee High School in Arlington, Virginia, where he was affectionately known as "Mr. A" to the many students who passed through his classroom. Tom enjoyed music and practiced harmonies as a performer in barbershop quartets and choirs. He was passionate about camping and especially loved all types of fishing. He was equally adept at angling in creeks, lakes, rivers and the Gulf.
Tom is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marlla Armstrong of Valdosta, GA; his son Corey Armstrong of Baltimore, MD; his daughter & son-in-law Meredith & Mark Randall of Richmond, VA; his daughter & son-in-law Sharon & Jim Bussone of Donaldsonville, GA; and his daughter Teresa Glahn of Valdosta, GA. He was the proud Grandpa to Christina and Neal.
