Of Lakeland crossed the finish line Saturday night, May 2, 2015 at South Georgia Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was born August 7, 1942 in Berrien County, GA to the late Willie Alver, Sr. and Jency Gaskins Stone. He retired from the Lanier County School System as the Maintenance Supervisor after 37 years. In 1965, TIlman began his racing career, T-Man Racing, as the owner, mechanic, and driver. Many will remember the number 2 racing around Thunderbowl Speedway and other local tracks. After nearly 40 years of dirt track racing and thousands of laps, Ruby's Toy has made it to Victory Lane. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Iral Stone and Junior Stone, and his biggest fan, Ruby, his wife of 49 years.
