Velva Fern Allen Hendley age 87 of Nashville, GA passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2020. A Celebration of Life will be at First Baptist Church in Nashville, GA. Saturday, February 29th. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 AM with the Service at 11:00 AM. The internment to follow will be at the Webb Hendley Cemetery.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Hubert Winston Hendley. Her parents Roy & Agnus Allen. And her sister Sarah Nelson. She is survived by her children, Sharon Tillman, David (Hilda) Hendley, Jonathan (Kathy) Hendley, and Skip (Leora) Moyer by adoption; 19 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Velva is a godly woman who honored Christ in all she did. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Nashville for 25 years. Her passion was missions and she was president of the Women’s Missionary Union for 15 years. She went on many mission trips with her husband. She also taught a Ladies Sunday School class for 15 years. She attended Faith Bible Institute and took a 3-year Bible course and graduated at the age of 84. She was a loving mother, granny, aunt, and friend to all. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
