Of Lakeland passed away early Monday July 2, 2007 evening at her residence after a lengthy illness. She was born Dec. 30, 1922, in Berrien County to the late Bige and Ola Cook. Mrs. Watson was preceded in death by her husband, Billie J. Watson, and a son, Douglas B. Watson. She was a homemaker and assisted her husband on the family farm Vera was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lakeland
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Bobby Weldon, Lakeland, Ga.; son and daughter-in-law, Darrell and Kim Watson, Lakeland, Ga.; grandchildren Pam Weldon, Tracie & Matt Schwab, Douglas Watson, Byron Watson; great-grandchild, Colby Schwab, all of Lakeland; special caretaker, Mildred Cowart, Lakeland.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 4, 2007, at 11 a.m. in the First Baptist Church in Lakeland with burial following in Empire Cemetery.
