Vera Latrelle Wrye

Vera Latrelle Wrye, age 81, of Lakeland, Georgia, passed away peacefully at her residence on Saturday, May 30, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Latrelle was born on November 12, 1944, in Homerville, Georgia, to the late Lewis and Nellie Jane Kight Cason. She dedicated more than 25 years of service to South Georgia Medical Center, Lanier Campus, where she worked in the business office and was known for her dedication, kindness, and strong work ethic.

Above all else, Latrelle cherished her family. She enjoyed taking trips with her family. She also found great joy in gathering loved ones together for Sunday dinners, creating lasting memories around the table. She was the heart of her family, always keeping up with each relative's life, checking in on those she loved, and making sure everyone was doing well. Her caring nature, thoughtful spirit, and unwavering devotion to her family will be remembered and treasured by all who knew her.

Latrelle's legacy is one of love, compassion, and selfless dedication to family and friends. She leaves behind countless cherished memories that will continue to bring comfort and inspiration to those who were blessed to know her.

Latrelle is preceded in death by her Husband, William Waugh “Billy” Wrye, Brothers; Raymond Cason, Danny Cason and Bill Cason; Sisters: Jean Bennett, Katie Kight, Myrtle Douglas and Shirley Rebecca Cason; Great Grandson, Bryson Bolling; Brother-in-law, Reavis Wrye and a sisters-in-law: Joyce Scott, Jimmie Rogers and Sharon Lambert.

Survivors include- Daughters and Sons in law: Jane Sirmans (James) of Lakeland, GA., Jan Mueller (Dewayne) of Jacksonville, Fl., Julie Hodges (Stacey) of Lakeland, Ga.; Son and Daughter in Law, Jamie Wrye (Misty) of Lakeland, Ga.; Brothers and Sister-in-law, Ronnie Cason (Faye) of Millwood, GA. and Verna Thomas of Valdosta, Ga.

Grandchildren: Jessica Mullis (Clint), Jenna Bolling (Chris), Ansley Grogan (Chad), Morgan Damato, Jordan Haskins (Vinny), Dylan Haskins, Abby Hodges, Nic Hodges (Bailey), Nathan Wrye (Jenna) and Nick Wrye

Great Grandchildren: Garrett Mullis (Mackenzie), Hayden Mullis, Jaxson Bolling, Hudson Bolling and Alora Grogan and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 2, 2026, in the Lakeland Chapel of Music Funeral Services. A private burial will follow the service at Stockton Baptist Church Cemetery.
