Victory Ellen Martin

Victory “Vickie” Ellen Martin, age 81, of Morven, Georgia, was called home on Friday, May 15, 2026, at South Georgia Medical Center.

Born on May 6, 1945, in New York, Vickie was the daughter of the late Joseph Henry Gangler, Sr. and Betty Lee Gangler. In her younger years, she proudly performed in the family-owned Gangler Brothers Circus. At the age of sixteen, she moved with her family from New York to Georgia, where she built a life centered around family, compassion, and joy.

Vickie was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who found her greatest happiness in caring for others. She deeply loved her family and cherished every moment spent with them. Her outgoing personality and love of social gatherings made her a friend to many. Vickie also had a special place in her heart for animals and enjoyed searching for hidden treasures in thrift stores.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Gus B. Martin.

Vickie is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Amea and Brandon Edmondson of Quitman, Georgia; her grandchildren, Rebecca Edmondson, Josi Edmondson, Cotton Edmondson, and Braleigh Edmondson; and her great-grandchildren, Everleigh Torres, Parker Vazquez, Greyson Edmondson, and Colter Edmondson and brother,  Joseph "Buddy" Gangler (Christine) of Valdosta; nephew, Joseph Gangler Jr. of Luke Park and great nephews and nieces, Johnathon Gangler and Leia Annabelle Gangler and a number of cousins and extended family members.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Valdosta, Georgia. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at Music Funeral Services of Valdosta.
