Vina Ward Elkins, 85, of Hahira, GA passed away on Friday, September 22, 2023, at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. Vina was born on March 5, 1938 in Asheville, NC to John and Lelia Mae Livengood Ward. She was a beloved mother and grandmother. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She could be found in front of her tv watching sumo wrestling or her soaps. Her favorites include a meal with flounder, a crossword puzzle, and her son Phillip. She was an avid speeder with a sweet tooth. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Ralph Elkins, Jr, sister, Mary Young, brother, Joseph Ecton Ward, son, James Phillip Elkins, daughter and son in law, Debra Lynn and James Parks, daughter in law, Margaret Diane Elkins, and grandson, Tyler Carrao.
She is survived by her two sons, Mark Elkins and wife Lisa of Hahira, GA, Tony Elkins of Hahira, GA; daughter, Jacqueline Norris and husband Joey of Jasper, FL; and grandchildren: Grant Elkins, Crystal White, Dayna Corbin, Randall Elkins, Jessica DeMotta, Brandi Zimin (Dima), Brooke Freeman (Jason), Melissa Corrao, Jamie Swift, James Park Jr, Alan Parks, Kenneth Dean Jr (Anna), Richie Dean, Artemis Norris, Shelly Hunter (Dustin); great grandchildren: Robert, Krista, Lily, Alexis, Amber, Grace, Patrick, Chariot, Olivia, Lexy, Ayden, Kylie, Jaxson, Gracie, Kayden, Kenneth III, Kroy, Ember, Raven, Zeldalaina, Ava, brother, John Henry Ward, Jr., sister Priscilla Shepard, brother, Jimmy Ward, sister, Judy Buckner, daughter in law, Kay Elkins, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at Music Funeral Services - Valdosta with burial to follow in Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery.
