Virginia Murray Giddens – 84

Of Lakeland, GA passed away on Monday, December 19, 2016 at South Georgia Lanier Campus. She was born on March 21, 1932 in Echols County, GA to the late Eulie and Johnnie Dedge Allen. She was married to Moy Murray in 1951 until his death in 1978. She married Jack Giddens in 1980. She was preceded in death by a son and a daughter-in-law, Dixie and Ann Thigpen Murray, a granddaughter, Stacey Murray King, a great granddaughter, Elizabeth Murray, her two brothers, Aldean Allen and Frank Allen and by a sister-in-law, Joette Allen.
She is survived by a son, Steve Murray and his wife, Janet of Valdosta, GA; a daughter, Vickie Joann Mathis and her husband, Marshall of Lakeland, GA; Grandchildren, Blaine Murray, Shane Mathis, David Mathis Bridget, Wade Murray Kim, Jim Murray; Great Grandchildren, Anne Tanner Murray, Moya Murray, Isabette Murray, Corbin Murray, Olvia Mathis, Jozie Mathis, ViVi King; her Sister-in-Law, Margie Allen of Tifton, GA and a beloved Niece, Mattie Ann Burnsed of Lakeland, GA.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Lakeland United Methodist Church with burial to follow in Burnt Church Cemetery. Mrs. Giddens will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 from 5:00 Pm until 7:00 PM at Music Funeral Services in Lakeland.
