Virmell Carson – 85
Of Lakeland, GA passed away on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at her home. She was born on September 14, 1936 in Lakeland, GA to the late James Croley and Rhoda (Burkhalter) Croley. She was a long-time employee of the local Harvey’s Supermarket where she always welcomed everyone with a smile. Virmell was an active member of Camp Creek Missionary Baptist Church for many years. She was well known for being a great cook and always enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. She loved singing, dancing and was always ready for a road trip. Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, George “Bud” Carson; infant daughter, Catherine; son, Harel Carson; daughter-in-law, Sharon Carson; numerous brothers and sisters.
Survivors Include her daughter, Debbie Long Bradenton, FL; grandchildren: Kit Carson Arcadia, FL, Rhoda Leann & Matt Yost Jacksonville, FL, David & Andrea Carson Arcadia, FL, Tifanny & Buddy Hall Myakka City, FL, Cody Long (Asia) Bradenton, FL, Cierra and Dakota Mack Tampa, FL; great grandchildren: Carson Yost, Jacksonville, FL, Harley Yost, Jacksonville, FL, Whitney Hall Myakka City, FL, Ava Carson, Arcadia, FL, Chance Carson, Arcadia, FL, Stetson Wyatt Hall, Myakka City, FL, Mackenzie Mack, Tampa, FL; Great Grand Son, Wyatt Hall Myakka City, FL; sister, Jimmie Lee Smith, Salisbury, NC; sister-in-law, Ann Croley, Tulsa, OK and a number of nieces and nephews and many special friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Camp Creek Missionary Baptist Church with burial to follow in Fender Cemetery.
