Of Valdosta passed away July 11, 2012 in South Georgia Medical Center. He was born on February 26, 1927 in Lowndes County, Georgia to the late Homer & Bessie Dickerson. Mr. Dickerson was a member of Sabbath Day Church of God. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He is preceded in death his two sons, Larry Dickerson and wife, Marilyn and Ronnie Dickerson, a son-in-law, Ben Santana and a brother, Willie D. Dickerson.
He is survived by, Wife of 65 years, Gertrude Dickerson, Valdosta, GA; Daughters & Son-in-law, Brenda & William Spell, Lake Park, GA, Sandra Santana, Lake Park, GA; Sons, Eddie Dickerson, Valdosta, GA, Kenny Dickerson, Augusta, GA; Daughter-in-law, Mattie Dickerson; 22 Grandchildren; 50 Great Grandchildren; 13 Great Great Grandchildren and many other relatives and friends
Funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, July 14, 2012 in the Chapel of Music Funeral Services with Pastor Billy Latham of Unity Sabbath Day Church of God officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM Friday, July 13, 2012 at the funeral home.
