Walter Kozuch – 91
Of Valdosta, Georgia passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 18, 1932 in Wadowice, Poland to the late John Kozuch and Veronica Kozuch. During World War II he and his dad were survivors of Dachau Concentration Camp in Germany. This inspired his dad to immigrate to the United States to start a new life. He joined the United States Army in 1950 and served for two years before joining the United States Air Force. He started his career as a tail gunner during the Korean War. He went on to serve in the security police during the Vietnam War and up until his retirement. His love for his country and patriotism led to a twenty-three-year-long career where he retired as a Staff Sergeant with many commendations. Everywhere he lived, he always had an American Flag flying in the front yard. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion. He was very active in the community and served on many committees such as Relay for Life. He was a faithful member of St. Johns Catholic Church since 1985. He enjoyed working in his yards, gardening, playing golf, watching westerns, and listening to Polka music. He loved his family and was considered a protector over them. His biggest joys were spending time with his family and taking his grandchildren fishing.
