Wanda Leigh Garza

Wanda Leigh Garza, age 60, of Valdosta, Georgia, passed peacefully on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at Langdale Hospice House. She was born in Valdosta, Georgia on April 10, 1965, to her late parents James Edward Terrell and Marry Ruth Terrell (Moore).

Wanda lived a life defined by compassion, quiet strength, and a deep commitment to caring for others. As a nurse, she dedicated herself to easing pain, offering comfort, and bringing dignity to those in her care. Her work was more than a profession—it was a calling that she fulfilled with grace and unwavering kindness.

Those who knew Wanda will remember her gentle spirit, her steady presence in times of uncertainty, and the warmth she carried into every room. She had a way of making people feel seen and cared for, whether they were patients, colleagues, friends, or family. Her empathy extended far beyond the walls of her workplace, touching countless lives in ways both big and small.

Wanda’s legacy is one of love, service, and humanity. She leaves behind a lasting impression of what it means to give of oneself fully and selflessly. Though she is no longer with us, the compassion she shared and the lives she touched will continue to echo in the hearts of all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Mary Terrell and James Terrell; Daughter, Alishia Carroll; and sister, Patricia Ortiz.

Survivors include her daughter, Natasha Duarte of North Carolina; adopted children: Mickey Neece, Michelle Wright and Rebecca Garza; Love of her life, Bobby Pittman of Valdosta, Georgia; Sister, Catherine Sinner of North Carolina; Brother, Lelmon Terrell of North Carolina; Several nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The family will hold a graveside memorial service at 6:00 PM on Sunday, May 17, 2026 at Lake Park Cemetery, Lake Park, Georgia.
