Warren Paris Corbett

Warren Paris Corbett Sr. -81

Of Lakeland, passed away early Monday afternoon in the South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, GA following a brief illness. He was born in Berrien County, GA. and moved to Lanier County when he was 2 years old. He is a Veteran of WW II, and graduated from ABAC, and the University of GA. Mr. Corbett worked for the Soil Conservation in Tennessee for 30 years. After retirement in 1979, Mr. Corbett moved back to Lanier County to the family farm. He was a district supervisor for Lanier County with the Alapaha Soil and Water Conservation district, a member of 7 Rivers RC & D Counsel. He was a member and served as a Deacon of First Baptist Church in Lakeland, and the Jim Threatte Sunday School Class. And was a member of the Lakeland Lanier County Chamber of Commerce, the Lanier County Historical Society, and served on the Board of The Lanier County Farm Bureau.

Funeral Services were held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 15, 2005 in The First Baptist Church in Lakeland. A Graveside service was held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Tifton, GA. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the First Baptist Church in Lakeland or to the Lanier County Library.
