Wayne Leonard Mullis

Wayne Leonard Mullis, age 77, of Lakeland, Georgia, passed away on June 6, 2026, at Lakeland Villas, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 22, 1948, in Barwick, Georgia, to the late Johnny Ralph and Louise (Dennis) Mullis. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Grady Adair, Frank Adair, and James "Buddy" Adair.

Wayne spent 43 dedicated years working at Nashville Mills, where he built lasting friendships and earned the respect of his coworkers through his hard work and dependability. He enjoyed planting in his gardens, loafing around town in Lakeland, and spending time with family and friends. Wayne never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Whether it was a neighbor, friend, or family member, he was the first person many called when they needed help.

Above all else, Wayne loved his family. He cherished every moment spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He especially enjoyed loving on his grandchildren and creating memories with them that will be treasured forever. His kindness, generosity, sense of humor, and unwavering love for his family will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his son, Dennis Mullis (Melissa) of Lakeland, Georgia; daughter, Kayla Mullis Johnson (Ray) of Lakeland, Georgia; grandchildren, Hannah Taylor (Avery), Grace Mullis, and Skyla Blank; great-grandchildren, Cannon, Slade, and Shepherd; brother, Jerry Mullis (Judy) of Lakeland, Georgia; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, June 8, 2026, in the Lakeland chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial to follow in Burnt Church Cemetery, Lakeland. Family will receive friends from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at the funeral home. Kind words and expressions of sympathy may be left for the family at www.musicfuneralservices.com.
