Wendell Burgess – 80
Of Barney, Georgia passed away on Friday, August 13, 2021 at his daughter’s residence. He was born in Barney Georgia on February 16, 1941. He was a farmer and also served his country in the Armed Forces serving in the U. S. Army. He enjoyed wood working and fishing. He was preceded in death by his mother Mary Jane Burgess, wife, Brenda Burgess, son, Shane Burgess and sister Nell Gay.
Survivors include: Son, Larry Burgess of Valdosta, Georgia; Daughter Sabrina Williams and Husband Ivan of Barney, Georgia; Grandchildren: Travis Williams and Wife Sarah, Scott Burgess and Wife Devae, Ashley Williams and Fiance Anthony Manning, Dalton Burgess and Wife Stephanie, Hunter Burgess and Fiance Lorin Fletcher; Great Grandchildren: Emily Williams, Jada Manning, Cotton Manning and Delaney Burgess; Sister, Elverta Gay and her late Husband Howard of Barney, Georgia, Sister Willie Cordell and Husband Bill of Tavares, Florida; Brother Franklin Burgess and his late Wife Linda of Lake Park, Georgia, Brother-in-Law Gene Gay of Barney, Georgia; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, August 16, 2021 in the Campground Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Sunday, August 15, 2021 at the funeral home.
