Whylie Dee Williams, Jr. – 76
of Lake Park, GA departed this life for the next chapter on July 8, 2018. Mr. Williams was born on August 1, 1941 in For Smith, Arkansas to the late Josephine Bee and Whylie Dee Williams, Sr. He graduated from Phillips High School Class of 1959 in Birmingham, AL. He spent a year in college at the University of Alabama before serving in the USMC 4th Battalion from 1961-1966. Mr. Williams relocated his family to South Georgia in 1980 when his job with the Roadway Company brought him to Lake Park, GA. He later retired from the Teamsters Union after serving as the representative for Local 528 for several years.
Mr. Williams loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed coaching softball for his granddaughters, golfing with his sons and grandsons and helping his great grandsons learn to read. Mr. Williams sure loved football and especially his Georgia Bulldogs. Most days you could find him at home working in his yard or sitting on his back porch listening to gospel music with his two beloved dogs at his feet. He loved and had a personal relationship with his Saviour, Jesus Christ, and never missed an opportunity to talk about the Gospel. Mr. William was a proud member of Calvary Baptist Church in Lake Park, GA. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Carmen Sue and Hazel Williams.
Mr. Williams is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 57 years, Patricia Key Williams; his children, Whylie Dee (Pamala) Williams, III of Warner Robins, GA, and Tracy Lee (Drew) Lindsey of Lake Park, GA; five grandchildren, Brittany (Broc) Cox, Kristen (Shane) Sikes, Camden (Charley) Lindsey, Whylie Dee (Amanda) Williams, IV, Rian Williams; 6 great grandchildren, and numerous in laws, nieces and nephews. He is also survived by two trusted friends, Don Dickson of Lake Park, GA and Tommy Hamblin of Statenville, GA.
