of Valdosta, Georgia passed away Wednesday August 22, 2012 after a lengthy illness at the residence of his sister, Elizabeth Weeks, with his loving family by his side. He was born August 14, 1954 in Clinch County, Georgia to the late Julian Theo and Vonnie Lee Sanders Newbern. Mr. Newbern was of the Church of God faith and a truck driver.
He is survived by his Sisters: Karen and Jimmy Fussell of Homerville, GA, Elizabeth Newbern Weeks of Valdosta, GA; Brother: Julian "Buddy" Newbern of Homerville, GA; Nephews & Nieces: Keith and Nancy Newbern of Lakeland, GA, Kevin & Joy Newbern of Lakeland, GA, David & Michelle Delk of Waycross, GA, Stacey Vickers Musgrove of Lakeland, GA, Linsey and Michael Plymel of Moultrie, GA; Great Nieces & Nephews: Michael Delk, Mallory Newbern, Lawton Delk, Noah Newbern, Molly Newbern, RayLee Plymel, Payton Musgrove, Christain Lee, Hannah Barnett, Mickey Barnett, Kadie Newbern, Aiden Newbern, Haley Miller; and Special Companion, his dog "Chili Willie".
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 11:00am in the New Vision Church of God in Homerville, Georgia with burial to follow in Pine Forest Cemetery in Homerville, Georgia. The family will receive friends Friday, August 24, 2012 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at the church in Homerville. Special thanks to Grace Hospice, Tammy Blanton, and Scott Schofill from Barnes Healthcare. Music Funeral Services of Lakeland is serving the Newbern family.
