William "Bill" Marshall Castleberry, Jr.

William “Bill” Castleberry Jr, age 79 of Valdosta, Georgia, passed away on Friday, October 16, 2026. He was born to loving parents, William Marshall Castleberry Sr, and Ouida Carter Castleberry on October 3, 1947, in Valdosta, GA.

Bill attended Valdosta High School and was a member of the Class of 1965. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Navy. In the early 1980s, he became a licensed ham radio operator and worked in real estate development throughout his career.

Bill enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and had a passion for collecting fancy cars and riding motorcycles. He was also an avid gun and knife enthusiast, with a particular appreciation for the craftsmanship of knives, which he enjoyed making himself.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Julian Carter.

He is survived by his son, Tripp (Ava) Castleberry of Hahira, GA; grandchildren, Isabella Castleberry and Audrey Castleberry; and niece, Elisabeth Carroll of Dalton, GA.

Bill shared 28 wonderful years of his life with his beloved partner, Lisa Washington of Pinetta, FL and her daughter, Kendall (Mike) Hollingsworth of Mountain Home, Idaho. Over the years, they shared a special bond, creating memories and a life filled with love and companionship.

A funeral service will be held at 6:00PM, Tuesday, October 20, 2026, in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service.
