William C. "Bill" Vest

William C. “Bill” Vest – 84 of Homerville, GA passed away October 22, 2017 at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was born on December 21, 1932 in Morgan County, Alabama to the late William H. & Ruby E. (Wallace) Vest. Bill joined the United States Air Force and served his country for over 23 years. Following his military career, he moved to Homerville and worked as the City Manager for over 22 years before retiring. He was a member of Homerville Congregational Methodist Church, Cassia Lodge #224, York Rite Body, Waycross Shrine Club and Hasan Temple, Albany, GA. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda L. Vest, sister, Jean Hensley and brother, David W. Vest.

Walton Beach, FL; 9 Grandchildren; 11 Great Grandchildren; 5 Great Great Grandchildren; Sisters & Brothers-in-law: Alyene Keenum, Hartselle, AL, Dot & Hank Smith, Decatur, AL, Patsy & Charles Ritterhouse, La Port, TX, Sandra & James Rhoden, Hartselle, AL, Peggy Appleton, Hartselle, AL; Brother & Sister-in-law: James M. & Evon Vest, Hartselle, AL and a special friend: Tina Ullrich, Homerville, GA.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, October 24, 2017 in the Homerville Congregational Methodist Church where full military honors will be rendered. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services. Bethany Hospice of Valdosta, Cassia Lodge #224 and members of the Homerville Congregational Methodist Church is considered as an honorary escort.
