William Clayton “Blackie” Walker – 90
Of Lakeland, GA passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at The Lakeland Villa after a lengthy illness. He was born on March 9, 1929 in Mora, GA to the late Clayton and Rebecca (Neugent) Walker. He served in the United States Marine Corps and received a lifelong membership from the American Legion Post #336. He retired from the CSX Railroad after many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time on his farm. Along with his parents, he is proceeded in death by his wife Dorothy Daniel Walker; four brothers, Edison Walker, Edward Walker, Curtis Walker, Charles Walker and step-son Judson Daniel.
Survivors include: Daughter Barbara Ann Smith (Harry) of Dasher, GA; Son William Darrell Walker (Pat) of Tifton, GA; Daughter C. Denese Whitney of Decatur, GA; Son Don Derwin Walker of Lakeland, GA; Step-Son Walter Daniel (Kay) of Douglas, GA; Step-Son Paul Daniel of Douglas, GA; 4 Grandchildren; 7 Great Grandchildren; 3 Great Great Grandchildren; 3 Step Grandchildren; Brother, Donald Walker of Eufaula, AL; Sisters, Annette McKinnon of Pearson, GA and Lounette Dupre of Locus Grove, GA.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 17, 2019 in the Lakeland Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial to follow in the Satilla Memorial Gardens, 2119 Broxton Road (HWY 441), Douglas, GA. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 16, 2019 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Sympathy may be expressed online at
