William E. “Bill” Carter – 62

Of Lakeland passed away early Thursday Morning May 6, 2004 in the South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta after a brief illness. He was born in Clinch Co., Ga. and had lived in Lakeland most of his life. He was a manager at Five Points Toyota, working in sales all his life. His firm handshake, warm smile, and magnetic personality made his love for others special. He was a veteran served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 13, 40-8 group, and Ducks Unlimited in Valdosta. He. was raised in the Camp Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Clinch County, was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Lakeland, GA. He was preceded in death by a son Barry Darsey, his mother Berdie Bradford Carter, and a sister Marie Carter Highsmith.

A number of Nieces and Nephews

Funeral service were held at 12:00 P.M. Saturday May 8, 2004 in the Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Lakeland with burial in Burnt Church Cemetery in Lanier County.

The Family will receive friends between 6:00 and 9:00 P.M. tonight at the funeral home.
