William Larry Clanton

William Larry Clanton – 75

On July 10, 2020 God came and took him home after a short 5 month battle with liver cancer. Larry was born on April 27, 1945 to the late William P. (Tanny) and Bessie Lou (Love) Clanton. He was a member of Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and was a Shriner. Larry owned and operated American Glass for over 48 years. Throughout his career he took pride in the quality of work his company produced and taking care of his customers. He was a proud father, having the enjoyment of working next to his 2 sons. Larry enjoyed cooking for family and friends and was always up for a gathering, fishing on the river and hunting. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Kailey Barry.
Survivors include: Wife for over 39 years Gloria Clanton Valdosta, Georgia; 2 Daughters: Ginger Leavengood , Valdosta, GA Lorie Luke (Ricky) Sopchoppy, FL; 2 Sons: Larry Clanton II (Kathy) Valdosta, GA David Barry (Shelly) Valdosta, GA 14 Grandchildren: Ashton Leavengood (Holly), Craig Barry, Tayte Barry, Kailey Barry, Euie Toth, Mary Toth , Noah Clanton, Ayden Clanton, Preston Clanton, David Luke Clanton, Jake Luke (fiancé Amber), Brooke Sheffield (Josh), Dalton Luke and Johnny Luke Great Grandchldren: Wyatt, Jordan, Kienleigh, Westin Keagan and Jackson Brother and Sister-in-law: Ronnie & Marlyn Clanton Nashville, TN And an abundance of nieces, nephews and close and dear friends.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 14, 2020 in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Lakeland, GA. The family will receive friends Monday evening, July 13, 2020 from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Shriner’s Hospital For Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607; St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105; The Gideons International, P. O. Box 97251, Washington, DC 20090-7251 or to the Masonic Lodge of Valdosta, Georgia. Expressions of sympathy may be left for the family at www.musicfuneralservices.com . The Clanton family is being served by the professional and caring staff of Music Funeral Services of Lakeland.
