William Robert Crosby – 82
Passed away at home in Lake Park, GA on Sunday, February 19, 2017. He was born on January 21, 1935 in Lakeland, GA to William Brooksie Crosby and Flora Mae Giddens. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Mary Crosby of Lake Park, GA. His children, William Gary L. Crosby, Donna & Donnie Swilley and Tracy & Casey Cope; Grandchildren, Haley Fiance' Nick Clark, John, Summer, and Wyatt Crosby, Dillon & Dalton Swilley, Kayrine & Braydon Cope; and his nephew, Timmy & Angie Mattox.
Robert joined the United States Army at 17 and served our country during the Korean conflict. After his tour of service, he supported his family as a meat cutter for 55 years. Robert enjoyed hunting and fishing, but mostly spending time with his family. His grandchildren each had a special place in his heart and all had him wrapped around their finger.
Donations may be made in his memory to Hospice of South Georgia, 2263 Pineview Circle, Valdosta, GA 31602 or to Forrest Park Church of Christ/Benevolence Program, 4263 Inner Perimeter Road, Valdosta, GA 31602. Robert was a faithful member of the Forrest Park Church of Christ. He also had many friends at the Mt. Pleasant Church of Christ.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial to follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Lakeland, GA. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Messages of sympathy may be expressed online at www.musicfuneralservices.com .
