William "Jay" Delaney

William “Jay” Delaney – 81 of Valdosta, Georgia passed away on November 1, 2020 in the Langdale Hospice House after an illness. He was born on May 3, 1939 in Kingston, New York to the late Claire (Simpson) and William Joseph Delaney. Jay was a veteran of the United States Air Force. During his time in the military, he served in the Photo Mapping Unit and achieved his Master Navigator. He was also a Weapons System Operator aboard the F-4. This led to his passion for the F-4 aircraft. He enjoyed racing sports cars and radio-controlled airplanes. Jay was an avid outdoorsman; he had a love for discovering waterfalls in North Georgia and woodworking. He loved and was very proud of both of his sons and his two grandsons. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sue Delaney of Valdosta, GA; sons: James Delaney and wife Debra of Ogden, UT, Michael Delaney and wife Heather of Hahira, GA; Grandkids: Liam and Davis Delaney of Hahira, GA.
Graveside services for Jay will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday November 4, 2020 in the Riverview Memorial Gardens in Valdosta, Georgia. Messages of sympathy may be left at www.musicfuneralservices.com In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be made to Hospice of South Georgia and Langdale Hospice House (2263 Pineview Dr, Valdosta, GA 31602). The Delaney family is being served by the staff at Music Funeral Services, Valdosta.
