William Luongo

William “Billy” Anthony Luongo, 55, of Valdosta passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2007, at South Georgia Medical Center after an apparent heart attack. He was born on June 9, 1951, in Queens, N.Y., to the late Al and Gertrude Christman Luongo. Mr. Luongo was an avid bowler. He enjoyed helping others learn to bowl and golf. His humor, kindness, gentleness and love for others will be greatly missed. He attended Valdosta State University, and was a dedicated employee with the City of Valdosta.

Survivors include his loving wife and soulmate, Cathy Luongo, Valdosta; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Angela and Mark Greenwell, Valdosta, Stephanie and Gary Pratt Valdosta; stepson and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Jessica Porter, Valdosta; six grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Marge and Junie Brush, Augusta, Maine, Jo Ann and Earl Ediger, Cairo; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dick and Gail Ottman, Norcross, Ted and Sandy Ottman, Highland Mills, N.Y.; numerous nieces and nephews that held a special place in his heart.
