William “Mike” Seago- 73
Of Hahira, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at his residence. He was born to the late Wilbur Seago and Mary Pearl Seago on November 8, 1951, in Valdosta, Georgia. Mike’s love for his family was unmatched—his devotion to them was unwavering, a bond that ran deeper than anything else. He was affectionately known as the "Grass Mowing Machine," always the first to jump into action, keeping his yard impeccably groomed with a relentless work ethic. Mike had a special place in his heart for the outdoors, particularly when it came to fishing. His favorite spot was Ocean Pond in Lake Park, Georgia, where he could often be found casting for bass or speckled perch. But there was one thing Mike could always be counted on to do like no other: make the most incredible prime rib anyone had ever tasted. Whether it was a holiday gathering or just a weekend cookout, his prime rib was legendary. In his downtime, Mike and Barbara could often be found cruising around the world, embarking on spontaneous adventures to far-flung destinations, savoring new cultures, and making memories along the way. Whether sailing through the crystal-clear waters of the Mediterranean, exploring the Caribbeans and Mexico, their shared love for travel brought them closer, allowing them to experience the world’s wonders hand in hand. He loved tending to his beloved flowers and fruit trees, cultivating a vibrant, colorful oasis right in his own backyard. His back porch was never without a burst of color, overflowing with blooms that reflected his nurturing nature. Mike's love for his family, his passions, and the world around him left an indelible mark on everyone lucky enough to know him. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Craig Steven Seago; brother, Johnny Seago; and sister, Mary Lynn McMillan.
Survivors include his loving devoted wife of 53 years, Barbara Seago of Hahira, Georgia; son, Michael Dean Seago (Heather) of Valdosta, Georgia; grandson, Evan Craig Seago of Valdosta, Georgia; granddaughter, Emerson Kate Seago of Valdosta, Georgia; grandchild, Craig Steven Seago of Valdosta, Georgia; great grandchildren: Daniel Liam Herndon, Zackary Craig Seago, Eliot Evan Seago; sister, JoAnn Mitchell of Ponte Vedra, Florida; brothers: Gene Seago (Sandra) of Ponte Vedra, Florida and Tony Seago (Angeleon) of Hahira, Georgia; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
