Willie Mae Carson

Willie Mae Carson, 93, of Lake Park, GA passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at Langdale Hospice House. Willie Mae was born & raised in Philadelphia, MS. She was educated at Neshoba County Public Schools and attended Draughn’s Business College in Jackson. She worked at Jackson Public Schools as a Reading Assistant.
She was a dedicated mother, who treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She loved to cook and always ministered to people through her meals. She made friends everywhere she went
She was a longtime member of Francis Lake Baptist Church in Lake Park, GA. It is a very special place that was near and dear to her heart. She taught Sunday School and was in the Choir until her late 80’s.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William D. Carson. She is the loving and devoted mother of James D Carson and his late wife Harriet, Dewayne G Carson and his wife Lila, William Christopher “Chris” Carson and his wife Marilyn; adored grandmother of Will Carson, Allen Carson, Amber Carson and Josh Carson and is survived by many great grandchildren, nieces & nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Francis Lake Baptist Church in Lake Park, GA. The family requests social distancing and masks be worn at the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Francis Lake Baptist Church, 5111 Springwater Drive, Lake Park, GA 31636.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2021 from 9:45 AM until 10:45 AM at Lakewood Funeral Home, 6011 Clinton Blvd, Jackson, MS 39209.
