Of Hahira passed away Monday, October 04, 2010 after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Guthrie was born in Hahira, Georgia on January 24, 1921 and was the last surviving child of the late Charlton and Myrtle Register. She lived in Hahira for the majority of her life. She was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with and helping her family.
Mrs. Guthrie is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Diana and Glenn Jones, Sanford, North Carolina, and Debbie and Darrell Brantley, Hahira, GA. She also had six grandchildren and their spouses of whom she was very proud; Jessica and Myron Hargett, Greenville, NC, Joshua Jones, Sanford, NC, Nathan Brantley, Macon, GA, Sarah and Brandon Rampey, Lakeland, GA, Erin Brantley, Valdosta, GA and the late Jeremy Jones, Sanford, NC. Mrs. Guthrie also had one great-grandson, Briggs Rampey, Lakeland, GA. Mrs. Guthrie is pre-deceased by her husband, Earl Guthrie. She is survived by a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Myrtice and HL Guthrie of Deland, FL and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Wednesday, October 6, 2010 in Hahira First Baptist Church with burial to follow in Friendship Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at the church.
